Dean came round today to meet my 7yr old highly excitable long haired German Shepherd Dog Sula. As Dean introduced himself and was filling in the forms Sula made great friends with him giving him her toys and asking him to play! He took Sula out to his van and bathed and groomed her at first I could her her crying (like a typical GSD) but Dean soon reassured her and she enjoyed her pamper session. We have a 15 week old cockapoo puppy, who is going to need regular grooming. I contacted Dean after seeing his waggies mobile dog wash van to book an appointment for him to come and shampoo Archie. I would describe Dean as a gentle giant!!!! Archie loved him, especially the fuss he made of him whilst getting to know him, whilst he explained everything to me. Having been putting off getting my dog a haircut for some time, due to being very nervous of explaining what sort of hairstyle I wanted, I decided that I really needed to get it done. Before choosing Dean at Waggies Mobile Dog Wash I investigated a number of groomers through friends and found prices to be pretty similar across the board, but Waggies stood out to me for 1 special reason - that personal touch! Dean took the time out to listen to what I wanted (and probably, more the point, what I didn't) and didn't make me feel the fussy person I probably was being! He put me at ease and my dog and for that I was eternally grateful. Diesel (my 8 month old Shih Tzu) was then taken to the van as I waited in anticipation for the yapping to start at his dismay over the ordeal, much to my surprise not a peep was heard and an hour or so later, a new dog was delivered. Yesterday Dean of Waggies came to our house to give our ten week Shih-Tzu puppy Eric, his first wash and grooming session. We had been recommended Waggies by someone who works with my girlfriend and all the testimonials on the Waggies website certainly backed up all the good things we had heard.

Dean arrived on time and made friends with Eric, as well as getting to know myself and also explained about himself and the expertise he can bring. I was immediately comfortable that Eric was in good hands and so off he went with Dean, to return about 20-30mins later groomed, smelling lovely and with his nails cut.

Alfie has been groomed in the past but was unsuccessful as he is a very nervous and can be uncooperative and 'lairy'. Other groomers and vets have refused to groom him due to his vicious tendancies. Thank you very much for coming to our home and looking after our two Shih Tzu dogs. You arrived promptly and made the dogs at ease. Tilly the puppy looks totally different as she had never been groomed before. Freddie then had a tidy up as he was (butchered) by someone who obviously doesn't know what he is doing. Dean of Waggies on the other hand is a true professional. He put the dogs at ease (and my wife!). I would have no hesitation in recommending Waggies to any other dog owner who is looking for a reliable and professional groomer. So much so that we have rebooked him for eight weeks time. We found Waggies Mobile Dog Grooming when googling mobile dog groomers, having never used one before. Dean was able to fit our 14 year old Papillon in to his busy schedule at the last minute so we would not have too long to wait. Dean arrived at our home well within the appointed time agreed and came in to meet all three of our dogs. He asked us exactly what we wanted to have done to our 14 year old Pap, which we outlined. He noted any medical problems, behavioural problems, medications, etc. Our Pap has a very fine, but thick coat which had got horribly matted and tangled. Dean gave us his expert advice and promptly began to show us how difficult it would be just to groom her because of how matted her coat had gotten. He then proceeded to advise that the only sensible solution would be to completely shave her. We had never thought of having her shaved and starting off her coat again but after some deliberating we decided that we should just go for it. Our 14 year old Pap (now Jack Russell lookalike) looks like a lovely little puppy again and smells beautiful. She is much happier, sprightlier, cooler and seems relieved to have got rid of her thick coat. We would highly recommend Dean for his expert advice, his time, his sensitivity with animals and being an experienced and personable 'doggy guru' who will go out of his way to give good service. We have already booked one of our other Paps in to be done by Dean with the other Pap to follow - we wish we had found his services ages ago".

Last Night this huge Bald man arrived and had a chat with my mum and dad, they spent some time filling in some paper work, its like a breif history of me, and to find out what my likes and dislikes are (and i hate clean water!!) the next thing i knew i was in the van..we chased eachother up and down, he tried to get me wet, i tried not to let him it was great fun!! in fact we became quite good friends. now i'm not as hairy and smell so lovely my Mum and Dad we're so pleased with the results...i got Dean's number on the wall by my food bowl now. Found Waggies from a Google search Dean very kindly agreed to take our booking although fully booked. Tommy our Cocker Spaniel has only been with us a few weeks, he is a very timid rescue dog having spent his entire 3.5 years in a kennel. Dean was very patient and gentle with Tommy, he hand stripped his coat, which was not in good shape, and Tommy emerged from the grooming van cleaner, lighter and no worse from the experience. Bruce is a black Labrador, who, 1 hour ago, was a an overgrown, smelly, (but adorable!) mess! Then Dean came along and transformed him into a handsome prince! I have tried, and failed on many occasions to groom Bruce, its not so much the bath bit, but the drying, and brushing that's the problem. Then I have 5 wet towels a hairy bath and wet and hairy walls to clean! So imagine how delighted I was today when Bruce went off into Deans van for his spa treatment! my bathroom remained clean, and Brucey boy is returned to me all shiny and beautiful! Hi Dean, Can't tell you how happy I was with Harry's doggy wash etc. this morning. As you know I had been worried about how he would respond as he turns from a lovely calm labrador into a monster dog at the vets and also won't let me anywhere near him to cut his nails or clean his ears. Washing him has always been such a problem too. However, after just a short while of getting to know you he was more than happy to be led into your van for the "full works" and there was none of the frantic barking that I had expected. Hi Dean, Because Scamp had previous bad experience with Dog Groomers, Dean spent time getting to know him and reassuring him before taking him to have his treatment and because Scamp was a little unsettled Dean continually reassured him and because of previous bad grooming Scamp needed a lot of extra attention . We have a very large German Shepherd dog, who’s fur was out of control, it was extremely hard to maintain as when brushing him seemed to go on and on, his moulting was awful. So we called Dean, after nearly 2 hours of being groomed, he came out looking like a new dog! All the knots in his fur were gone, we could see all three of his coats clearly and his nails were trimmed and he had been shampooed and flea protected, we were greatly impressed. Benji is my long haired GSD who is now 22 months old, he has never been groomed professionally before and is too big for me to manage to bath him, so we didn’t really know what to expect. Benji has lots of lovely thick black hair a with silver undercoat which loves to cover us and my carpets. As we have open fires Benji seems a little confused and thinks its summer, loosing a lot of hair and its now irritating him, we decided to phone Dean from waggies. As Benji is not the most sociable of dogs we didn’t think a dog parlour would suit him. Dean was absolutely brilliant with him and after a play Benji couldn’t wait to get in the van. When he came back indoors he looked so neat and smelt gorgeous (Benji not Dean!) Dean looked a bit hairier but pleased with his job! Saying goodbye to Benji who was wagging his tail showing off his new look. Dean also was full of great advice on how to manage his coat and even put me in touch with a friend of his to help me with Benji’s anti-social problem! I have been having dogs groomed for the last forty years, and to be honest with you I thought I knew it all, I was trawling the internet looking for a new groomer when I found Waggies, like you are doing reading the reviews, I came across Waggies Mobile Dog Grooming, liked what I read, and booked Dean, liked him straight away as soon as he knocked the door, he sat down with me while my dogs got use to him, talked about his background and there is not much this guy doesn’t know about dogs, I was really impressed, sadly I have not been grooming my dogs properly, and when he pointed out to me where I was going wrong and what I should be doing, I felt pretty awful with myself, I have always wanted the best for my dogs, and I let them down. His moulting was driving us mad, not only did he come out of your van dropping considerably less hair, he smelt great too, and as anyone that owns an Aussie knows, they always find the smelliest water to swim in! I can not thank you enough for spending the time and effort on removing the matted hair behind his ears without shaving it off, I didn't want him to go through any pain, but at the same time maintaining as much of the coat as possible was important for the shows. Considering this was the first time he has ever been groomed professionally he seemed at ease with you, and clearly didn't hold it against you with all the attention you got once you brought him back in. Hi Dean, Thank you once again for the outstanding job you did on Poppy this morning! Testimonial as promised: Our 9 month old cocker spaniel puppy was starting to look rather scruffy and being a very enthusiastic little person she was not overly keen on us grooming her - in fact we were fighting a losing battle! Poppy had terrible knots and matted fur under her ears and round her tail and we were unable to get them out without her getting distressed. Having contacted waggies and meeting Dean, I was more than confident that he was the man for the job and Poppy warmed to him instantly! An hour later and I had a beautifully groomed, smooth furred, very happy spaniel puppy! Dean was excellent with her and put her at ease. Having recently taken on a shih tzu cross rescue, we were very concerned about her handling and grooming issues. She had obviously had some seriously bad experiences and we could hardly pick her up or gently wipe her feet without her drawing blood. By chance, I found Dean's website and organised for him to start regulary grooming Ruby.. Not only does he manage to groom her beautifully, but after a few months, he has gifted us with a cracking little dog that is now completely relaxed about grooming and cuddles. We can even massage her feet when she is dozing which would have left us minus several finger tips in time gone by. Dean is an excellent dog groomer but more than that, his Army dog work experiences have given him skills that no other groomer has. We recommend him to anyone, but most particularly to anyone with a dog that does not enjoy grooming. If Dean can turn Ruby around, he can solve any dog's grooming issues.

We normally use a well known mobile grooming service and although really happy with the service, glands and nails were not part of the service along with an overall check. Our 5yr old Border Collie suffers from overheating so we called Dean in to give her coat a stripping and a clipping! Dean spent time with Saffie before the 'procedure' started to put her (and me) at ease. We contacted Dean as we were looking to get our two dogs groomed (Labrador and Long haired German Shepherd). Dean was punctual and was soon sat on the floor at dog level getting to know our dogs and putting them at ease, which was very important as our nine year old German Shepherd can be a bit skittish at times when meeting new pew people, and she is also a bit nervous of strange noises (hates the vacuum cleaner!). Dean explained what he was proposing to do with each dog after having assessed each one and made sure we were content with his proposal and once he had both dogs relaxed and he was happy that the dogs themselves were happy he took them out to his van for the treatment. Our German Shepherd took a bit longer to treat as her coats needed a lot of work, as well as clipping her nails and checking her anal glands, he brought her back into the house after about an hour, and it is fair to say we didn't recognise the dog. Her 'hair cut' looked a bit extreme at first, however she had not had a trim for some years and in this current hot weather she certainly will benefit from having her coat thinned out. She also smelt incredibly fresh! and we soon had half the neighbourhood wanting to stroke her new soft coat and to smell her, One of the neighbours commented that she had the same smell as a baby! Our Labrador didn't take as long as his coat is a lot shorter however he also received the same level of treatment and he thoroughly enjoyed being bathed and pampered. From Start to finish, Dean was extremely professional in his approach and his love for animals is very apparent. the dogs were well cared for from start to finish all the time that they were under his charge which put our minds at ease as well - after all it is hard giving your loved ones to a complete stranger, however Dean proved to be very caring and knowledgeable and above all was a really nice down to earth man. Someone I would have no hesitation in recommending and Look forward to welcoming him back into our home in the future. Excellent Service!

Dean has cut our little Yorkie's hair twice now (her only 2 hair cuts) and we are always thrilled with results. Miya is sometimes a little apprehensive at first but Dean comes in and finds out exactly what we want, lets Miya get used to him and when she comes back its like they're best friends....we tried trimming Miya by ourself due to economical reasons but had to call in Dean rather quickly as nothing can replace real experience and expertise (we won't take the scissors to her again!). I had been putting off getting Mooky clipped as every time he has been clipped before the groomers have said that he gets aggressive. His hair had got badly matted and having seen Dean clipping another dog and how relaxed that dog was with him I decided to give Dean a try.. It was clear very soon after meeting him that Dean's main priority is the welfare of the dog. Mooky took to him immediately and let him clip him with no trouble at all. Dean did a brilliant job and has educated me about the best way to groom Mooky to avoid getting him in such a state again. I am so glad I chose to use Dean and to have the reassurance from him that Mooky is not an aggressive dog in any way. Mooky trusts Dean to cut his hair without causing him stress or pain and it is such a relief not to have the anxiety over getting him clipped any more. We have a Westie called Bonnie who is very nervous. When it came to getting her groomed we got really stuck as the groomers we used did not know how to handle her, they eventually refused to groom her because of getting bitten and scratched by her because she got stressed during the process. I have a 10 month old bichon frise. These dogs are high maintenance for grooming and i have had difficulties finding someone who would be willing to take him onto their books. Fortunately i came across Dean's website and today was his first visit to our home. On arrival Dean took the time to gain the dogs trust and within 5 minutes he was following Dean around the house! Not sure if I can put into words what you have done for us today, but anyone wondering if they should book you please read this. Ebba is 17 and I haven't seen her for well over a year. It broke my heart to see her long claws and her matted fur, she is a long haired lurcher so more hair than body if not groomed.

Dean came today and although I knew from speaking to him that I could trust Ebba with him I was impressed when Ebba let him touch her paws, (she wouldn't let me near them).

Dean spent ages with her before he took her to his van, I knew that she wouldn't look like a show dog as it was just about making her comfortable; but when she came back (skipping like a puppy) I cried she looked more like a puppy than the old lady she was before the magic van!!!

She also went straight to him afterwards. Dean's empathy and skill are highly apparent and I don't think it's going too far to say that he has prolonged her life.

Scally is normally a very shy and quiet dog even though he is a large (a Golden Retriever), he had not been groomed in over 3 years. You came in and made friends with him first, he was then quite happy to follow you out to your mobile salon, we had booked him in for the works because we knew that he needed a really good going over, approximately 45 minutes later you bought Scally back, and boy what a difference those minutes had made, he was beautiful, had been groomed really well and he was obviously happy because he started strutting around as if he was king of the hill, his eyes were bright and sparkly and it was obvious that he had enjoyed this experience. I knew that his coat was somewhat overgrown and that his claws were too long because we had to miss his last appointment. Now he is looking and smelling lovely. This is the first time we have used a mobile dog grooming service I contacted Dean who does not normally cover our area, but he agreed to call on us, and we were very pleased with Dean who is obviously a man who loves and understands dogs. He very quickly gained the confidence of both our dog (Especially Olive a Border Terrier who is a nervous dog and belongs to my daughter who lives in Sevenoaks Kent) both dogs were trimmed exactly as we had asked. Dean came to wash & groom my German Shepherd Jess the reason I chose him was because my dog is not good with other dogs and after talking to him on the phone I realised Dean has had years of experience working with dogs. We booked Hugo our 10 month shih tzu for his first grooming session, as his fur was very scruffy and his hair was over his eyes, and he looked and smelt like a stray! lol. Dean braved the snow and icy roads to fit in Suki, my 3 year old husky cross German shepherd, at very short notice on 08/01/2010. Dean spent about 90 minutes at our house, asked important questions about Ski’s health and socialised with her prior to grooming to put her at ease. Dean did an amazing job grooming Suki and getting her malting undercoat out. He also trimmed and shaped her tail and the long hair on her back legs, which was an unexpected bonus. Suki returned to the house looking calm and beautiful! I shall definitely call upon Waggies again and highly recommend the thorough and friendly service Dean offers to owners and their dogs.

Dean from Waggies came to my home to groom our Siberian Husky Storm on 23rd Dec. He spent at least 1 1/2hr at our address, firstly talking through the procedure and making Storm at ease and then giving him a thorough clean. I contacted Dean via a google search yesterday. Despite being fully booked through till January he fitted Timba in the same day due to a cancellation. This was my first experience of using mobile groomig and I was certainly very impressed! Timba is a 42kg Alaskan Malamute with polar bear like hair. I have just rescued him and having been in kennels for the last few months was in great need of a good groom and wash! Dean spent time going through everything with me then spent time getting to know Timba! After an hour and a half of grooming Timba came back looking amazing (although the inside of the waggie van looked like a White Christmas of White fur). I cannot recommend this service highly enough, Dean is extremely knowledgeable and knows exactly what he is doing. He even gave some training advice as Malamutes aren't known for their recall skills! A+ all round!

When Dean arrived at our house, he introduced himself to us, he got down to lucy's level ( Our shitzsu) made friends with Lucy, and made her feel very comfortable giving her lots of cuddles and he then spent 10 minutes talking to her. We have just had our two Labradors washed and groomed by Dean and I feel I must write a review to express our appreciation, and to reassure anyone thinking of using Waggies. We normally wash our dogs ourselves but they are strong and with my bad back, I always find it quite difficult. One of the Labs is quite nervous about her bath too. Well, what an experience when Dean arrived! He certainly made friends with them from the outset and with his experience from working with dogs, it was obvious we were on to a winner. There was no reluctancy from either dog to go to the van with Dean. They came back not only having had their bath including conditioner and a flea rinse they had also been dried and fully groomed, and ears, claws etc had all been attended to as well. All at one amazingly affordable price. They looked and smelt lovely and they had enjoyed it all too. I could not recommend Dean more highly. Fantastic professional attention, excellent customer service, (we were so desperate, he came within days at 8am for us!) and really great value. On top of that, and probably the most important, our dogs certainly loved the experience and have made a new friend. It's a 5 Star service!We've booked our next appointment already...

I have a 3 1/2 month old Tebetan. She has a long coat already and needs regular grooming. I had a dillema of what to do with her coat as I did not want her shaved short but did want her coat trimmed. Dean explained that to get an overall cut which looked even it would be better to clipper her with his longest clipper which was an inch and a quarter. She looked great afterwards. I was really pleased with Dean's work. Dean was very flexible with his appointment time. He spent ages getting to know the dog and understanding what would suit her best. Used Waggies for the first time today, excellent service and great care for Rosie our golden retriver. The grooming was excellent as was the price, most of all Rosie was one very happy and contented dog. Dean must have a way with animals as Rosie who is normally a nervous dog seemed quite happy in his company.I would highly recommend Waggies to friends and family and I will definatley be using them on a regular basis, couldnt ask for better care and service 10/10

I think waggys were brilliant and would definitely use them again. Not only did they come on exceptionally short notice, but also i had a 12 week old bichon frise which not only is a small puppy but difficult fur to treat. My boy looked and smelled beautiful and was still happy to go to dean again after he was done so couldn't have been frightened at all. I will be using this service again many thanks.

We were given a card for Waggies outside Pets at Home at Ocean Park and read a few reviews so we decided to give Dean a try. He takes time to get to know the dogs and what you are expecting from his services. We have 2 dogs a springer and a labrador who seemed to take to Dean as soon as he came in. We are pleased with the service, the dogs smelt lovely and seemed to enjoy the experience and we will definately use Waggies again.

As the owner of a large Newfoundland dog I have, in the past, found it very difficult to find a grooming service that can handle him or deliver the quality of service we would have liked. Those that we did find were extremely expensive. Waggies have provided an excellent service in both the grooming and making 'Murphy' feel at ease when being groomed. The service is excellent value for money topped off with pleasentries from Dean. I would recommend Waggies to anyone 10/10 Val Lewis.

Dean is obviously a very knowledgeable person when it comes to dogs, he spends a lot of time finding out about your dog so that he can provide it with the best care. The service was excellent and even my dexter who hates showers loved the attention he got from his cleaning session

Vogue is a Canine Partner (assistance dog) so she has to go everywhere with me and so it's important she looks her best. Dean was really helpful finding an appointment that was suitable for me. He got to know Vogue and was very friendly (to me and her) and now she looks shiney and glossy.
